Who is Essel As a Brand?
Well, to start with, one of the facts we mentioned in the intro isn’t technically true. While Essel is indeed working out of Melbourne, Australia, they actually began their life as a South African skincare brand. Priding themselves on their innovative approach to raw materials and cosmeceutical formulations, their team has made a name for themselves with this unwavering dedication to quality, both in Australia and across the globe. Their ethos is not just one of correcting skin issues and blemishes but maintaining that correction through products that penetrate the lower skin layers.
Rather than displaying Essel skin care products by chemical or subclass, they instead provide ranges based on the certain type of skin ailment or issue they’re looking to tackle. For example, there’s their Aesthet series. This line of products consists of four different solutions:

- Aesthet Hyaluronic Flashfiller -30ml(1oz)
Whilst at first glance, these four products may not have a lot in common in terms of their intended function, grouping these four does make a considerable amount of sense when considering how they work together. Each of these products can be used in the process of treating problematic, sun-damaged skin that may not respond as effectively to other methods. This range is a good example of the ethos that Essel tends to strive for across their entire skincare line, providing solutions that are holistic, and assisting in the maintenance of skin support throughout its various stages of healing.
Eco-Friendliness
As with any skincare brand, there are inevitably going to be questions about the ethics of their business model. After all, many large beauty brands have been confronted with backlash in recent years due to their continued animal testing and use of harmful chemicals in the development of their products. Well, in the case of Essel, you’ll be happy to know that they pass the test in both regards. They have openly stated the fact that they do not use animal testing and have avoided using any harsh chemicals and bleaches in the production of their skincare lines.
So, What Would We Recommend?
If you can’t tell from the rest of the piece, we have had a great time with Essel as a skincare brand.
